Golfing Lessons...Are They Worth Your Time?

Hi there, this is exciting! This is my first post on Bogger. This site is great!

Anyways, I like to talk about my life experiences and also to recommend to you anything that is worth your time and money and I never talk BS. If I try something that's delivers on what it says, I will tell you about it. And if it doesn't...I will tell you. I have bought a lot of digital stuff from the internet in these last few years and I would like to share my experiences with you all.

But first I want to talk about a subject that I have been passionate about for years. And that is the game golf.

When I started playing golf, back when I was 12 (I'm 27 now) I thought it was the best game on earth! I begged dad and mum into buying me a set of golf clubs for my birthday. They were a second-hand set but I made do for what I had. Anyways, after school everyday I would head down to the local park to hit golf balls for two hours everyday. I don't mean to gloat but I was hitting them pretty good for a beginner.

One of my friends was a junior member out at the local golf club, he said to come out and join up. So I did and I started to play in the Saturday competitions.

My friend was a bit surprised on how I went, I had only 91 gross. When I got back in the clubhouse the other members asked have I had any golfing lessons before, "no I have never had a golf lesson in my life, not even a putting lessons", but they didn't believe me anyways.

In few weeks after that was the Club Championships, they gave me a handicap of 22 after the third week that I joined up on, so I was in 'C Grade' for the Championships. After the forth round I had won C grade with a combined total of 338 (88, 87, 85,78). And on that last day it was raining! I think I even shot better than the winner out of B Grade!

They could not believe it. They still asked if I had any golfing lessons and I said "nope". Of course they said "BULL*#@T!"

The very next weekend the other members were apparently talking about me and said that they would pass the hat around and shout me to a couple of golf lessons, "cool" I said. So I turned up to my first golfing lessons at the driving range, I was a bit nervous. Greg (the Pro) came out said "OK, lets get into it". After an hour and a half it was all over and I felt like I actually had improved on my ball striking.

I turned up at golf the next Saturday and played a round. Some of the members were waiting in the clubhouse to see how I went and if the golfing tips the Pro gave me helped any. Sad to say that I had a shocker, I had a 95 of the bat. The boys said not to worry about it, were only human. Yeah I don't know about that...the more golfing tips I received from the Pro the worse I got! Everyone could not work it out, you are meant to get better with getting golfing instruction from a qualified specialist!

So I put a stop to getting anymore golfing tips from him again.

After a while I got a little bit better but not to my personal best :-( Buy this stage I was of a 7 handicap and 16 years old.

My social life and my job got in the way of my golf, so I ended drifting away from the game until now.

As I said before, I'm now 27, married, two kids, a cat and a mortgage. My friend back when I was a junior starting to play golf rang me and said to join back up. "Fair enough" I said, so I joined back up and started playing this great game again. Let me say, I played terrible, I could not hit the backside of a barn! I shot a monster of 102. The boys said I had to warm back into it again.

Yeah right! It was like that for three months. Spraying them everywhere, left and right.

During one night when I was reading my email, my friend sent me this link to check out. He said it was good thing and it would at least help my game a bit.

I'm hitting the ball a lot cleaner, like I was 11 years ago and I also stopped duffing my pitch and chip shots. Those shots were costing me about 10 shots a game. I dreaded those shots, I always felt uncomfortable over those. But not now! All I need now is some golfing tips or some putting lessons to help my putting. I can't read the greens like I used too. But anyways, baby steps at a time they say ;-)

I am on my way back to my old self once again but I hope it doesn't take too long ;-)

If you are struggling with your game in any area, I'd advise you to at least try this golfing instruction course out for size. It has certainly help me get back on track.
